The Patient Advice & Liaison Service

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) offers confidential advice, support and information on health-related matters. They can:

  • Help with health related questions
  • Help resolve concerns or problems when using the NHS
  • Tell you how to get more involved in your healthcare

They can also give you information about:

  • The NHS
  • The NHS complaints procedure, including how to get independent help to make a complaint
  • Support groups outside the NHS

PALS also helps to improve the NHS by listening to you concerns and suggestions.

A-Z of all cancer drugs

There are many cancer drugs and cancer drug combinations. They have individual side effects. The list includes chemotherapy, hormone therapies, targeted cancer drugs and bisphosphonates. The drugs are listed in alphabetical order by pharmacy (generic) name and brand name.

Cancer drugs will be given one of three recommendations:

  1. Yes. Recommended for use on the NHS
  2. No. Not recommended for use on the NHS
  3. Conditional approval. The drug has the potential to meet NICE cost-effectiveness criteria but more evidence is needed to recommend for use on the NHS
